Epidavros
Less than an hour from Porto Heli,
the ancient theatre of Epidaurus sets the stage for
the visitor to enjoy an unforgettable experience in the history of the performing arts,
dating back to antiquity. Built in 400 BC, the theatre is renowned for its perfect
acoustics, as well as the "Epidavria," a festival of ancient Greek drama.
The site is also home to the famous sanctuary of Asclepius, mythological god of healing, and there
are also ruins of the temple of Apollo, patron god of musicians and poets.
